  • Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) standards
  • Australian Privacy Principles
  • Relevant state and federal legislation

2. Appointments & Scheduling

2.1 Booking Appointments

Appointments may be booked via our online scheduling system, by phone, or by email. Confirmation will be sent via your preferred communication method.

2.2 Session Duration

Standard sessions are 50 minutes. Extended sessions (80 minutes) are available by arrangement. Session fees are outlined on our Fees page.

2.3 Cancellation Policy

At least 24 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed appointments without notice, will incur the full session fee.

Exceptions: Emergency circumstances (illness, family emergency, etc.) will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

2.4 Late Arrivals

If you arrive late, the session will still conclude at the scheduled time, and the full fee applies. We will make best efforts to accommodate your needs within the remaining time.

3. Fees & Payment

3.1 Session Fees

Current fees are listed on our Fees & Medicare page. Fees are subject to change with 30 days' written notice.

3.2 Payment Terms

Payment is due at the time of service. We accept:

  • Credit/debit card
  • Bank transfer
  • Direct debit (for ongoing sessions)

3.3 Medicare Rebates

If you have a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates. Rebates are processed directly or you will receive an invoice to claim through Medicare yourself.

3.4 Outstanding Fees

Unpaid fees may result in suspension of services until payment arrangements are made. Persistent non-payment may be referred to a collection agency (clients will be notified beforehand).

4. Confidentiality

4.1 Client Confidentiality

All information shared during sessions is confidential and protected under Australian privacy laws and professional ethical standards.

4.2 Limits to Confidentiality

Confidentiality may be breached in the following circumstances:

  • Risk of harm: If there is a serious risk to your safety or the safety of others
  • Legal obligation: When required by law (e.g., court subpoena, child protection reporting)
  • Your consent: When you provide written consent for information sharing

4.3 Professional Consultation

Your case may be discussed (in anonymised form) with clinical supervisors or peer consultants for quality assurance and professional development purposes.

5. Telehealth Services

5.1 Online Sessions

Telehealth sessions are conducted via secure, encrypted video platforms (e.g., Zoom Healthcare, Coviu) in compliance with Australian telehealth guidelines.

5.2 Technical Requirements

You are responsible for ensuring you have a stable internet connection, appropriate device, and a private, quiet space for sessions.

5.3 Emergency Situations

In case of technical failure or urgent crisis during a telehealth session, contact emergency services (000) immediately. Telehealth is not suitable for crisis intervention.

6. Client Responsibilities

6.1 Honesty & Engagement

You are expected to provide accurate information and engage honestly in the therapeutic process. Therapy is most effective when clients actively participate.

6.2 Safety

If you are experiencing thoughts of self-harm or suicide, please inform me immediately. In emergencies, contact emergency services (000) or Lifeline (13 11 14).

6.3 Medication & Other Treatments

Please inform me if you are taking medication or receiving other forms of treatment (psychiatric care, counseling, etc.) so we can coordinate care effectively.

7. Termination of Services

7.1 Voluntary Termination

You may discontinue services at any time. If possible, we encourage a final session to discuss progress and future plans.

7.2 Therapist-Initiated Termination

Services may be terminated if:

  • Your needs are outside the scope of my expertise (with referral to appropriate services)
  • There is persistent non-payment of fees
  • There is a conflict of interest or dual relationship concern
  • Therapeutic progress is not being made, and alternative approaches would be more beneficial

You will be given reasonable notice and, where appropriate, referrals to other professionals.

8. Complaints & Feedback

8.1 Feedback

Your feedback is valued. If you have concerns about any aspect of the service, please raise them with me directly so they can be addressed promptly.

8.2 Formal Complaints

If you wish to make a formal complaint, you may contact:
